Wailoa River to King Kamehameha Statue Kayak Adventure
About this adventure and logistics
Experience a leisurely kayak adventure on the Wailoa River, suitable for beginners and offering a new perspective of Hilo. The tour is available for ages 8 and up, but minors must be accompanied by an adult. The easy entry from a boat ramp allows for a relaxing journey up the river, where you can spot unique birds and fish and cruise under the impressive Japanese-style bridges. During the tour, take a break to visit the King Kamehameha Statue and learn about the history of the Big Island, including the tsunamis that have shaped the area and created an arboretum of trees recognized by the Tree Association as "The Largest of Tree Species outside of Africa." However, the tour is not suitable for those who are pregnant, over 300lbs, have back or mobility problems, or cannot swim unassisted in the open ocean. All tours leave promptly at the specified time, and missed tours are not eligible for a refund. If you need to cancel the tour, you can do so with 24 hours' notice and receive a full refund. The tour may also be canceled due to weather, failure to reach minimum capacity, or other unforeseen circumstances, in which case you will also receive a full refund. Late arrivals may be charged a fee, and customers requiring rental gear must arrive before the specified time to have gear fitted and be ready for an on-time departure.
