About this boat and logistics
Our Pedal boats slip through the water with ease. Wind and waves are no problem. Dual pedaling positions and room for 4 adults (or adults and kids) they have high sides which means you stay dry. Pedal boats are our easiest boats to operate. They’re very stable and lots of fun! Most kids can use these boats by themselves (with parental supervision, of course). *Pedal boats are not free. They are first come first serve for $60 per hour
Boat rules
Your canoe or kayak adventure begins at the Lakeside Park Watersports Centre on beautiful Alta Lake. Take advantage of Backroads’ parking right beside the park. Once there, you’ll be fitted with lifejackets and paddles. Orientation sessions are required for all guests, prior to their departure. In addition to the Watersports Centre, Lakeside Park offers barbecue stands, children’s play areas and public washrooms, plus docks for swimming and sunbathing. You may want to bring a light snack, although our concession stand does sell ice cream, novelties and other snacks. It’s also a good idea to bring a warm sweater or light jacket, as mountain weather changes quickly. Backroads Whistler operates rain or shine and provides rain ponchos if the weather turns. Don’t forget to bring your camera, so you have lots of pictures from your canoe or kayak adventure. Although orientation sessions are available, it is recommended that guests wanting to take self-guided or solo tours should be competent paddlers. Dates of Operation MAY 14TH TO LABOUR DAY - Open 9am - 5pm everyday. LABOUR DAY TO THE 3RD WEEKEND OF SEPTM - Midweek 11am to 4pm. Best to call to confirm 604-932-311. Weekends 9am-5pm END OF SEPTEMBER TO OCTOBER 10TH 2022 - Open weekends 9am - 5pm.
Damage deposit
Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of CA$0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental. This damage deposit secures the host if the boat is damaged during your rental. The damage deposit must be taken from the same card that the booking was made on. Questions?
