Experience the thrill of fishing for trophy bowfin in the Lowcountry oxbow swamp on this kayaking adventure. Led by an expert guide and accomplished bowfin tournament angler​,​ participants will explore deep into an oxbow lake and ancient cypress swamps to catch these ancient fish native to the waters. Using light tackle techniques​,​ anglers can expect to catch bowfin up to 30"​,​ which fight ferociously even in the net and kayak. The Santee River system is known for having the best bowfin action in the world​,​ with the lakes stocked full of hungry fish. This trip is available year-round​,​ with peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day offering the most action and biggest fish. However​,​ availability is subject to Santee River levels​,​ and anything above minor flood stage at Jamestown​,​ SC​,​ may result in postponement or cancellation at the guide's discretion. All necessary equipment​,​ including kayaks​,​ PFDs​,​ safety equipment​,​ fishing gear​,​ and tackle​,​ are included. Customers aged 16 and older must present a valid SC freshwater fishing license upon departure. Please note that some Saturdays may not be available due to fishing tournaments utilizing the same landings.
